Statue of Liberty

The famous sculpture located in the port of New York City, also known as one of the symbols of the United States, is the Statue of Liberty.

It was designed and completed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi in 1886.

Originally gifted by the French government to the United States, it commemorates the 100th anniversary of the American Revolutionary War victory.

The Statue of Liberty holds a torch and a sheaf of wheat representing freedom, while her right foot stands on chains, symbolizing liberty and breaking free.

The statue, created by Italian artist Arturo Di Modica, was installed in Bowling Green, New York City, on Wall Street in 1989.
