The ancient city of Petra is located in the southern desert of Jordan, about 260 kilometers from the capital Amman, in a high mountain valley at an altitude of 1,000 meters.

It was carved almost entirely out of rock, and the rocks of the Petra site have a coral-jewel-like reddish hue that glows in the sunlight.

The name "Dead Sea" comes from its high salt concentration, with the water evaporating at a greater rate than freshwater flowing into it. This high salt content, about 10 times saltier than the ocean, along with hundreds of minerals, creates a buoyancy several times stronger than that of the ocean.
